We've all seen the news over the past few months, Lana Del Rey was dating and now MARRIED a goatee toting alligator tour guide. It's definitely got some of us thinking about where we can find ourselves a cap wearing, boat driving, gator spotting lover - and I totally get it, the rough around the edges, down to earth fella and the coquette, bows in their hair angel falling in love trope, it's like an off center hallmark movie. I married a man who exclusively wears camo hats, has a mullet and a soft spot for jorts, so I get the vision.
Well, as always - manifestation and intentions are our best friend in witchcraft. So let's make a little spell jar to help us conjure up our own 'gator guy.
Setting the Intention
The most important part of any spell jar is setting your intention. Before starting, take a moment to centre yourself and think about what you're manifesting. In this case, it’s not just love—it's the unique charm of an alligator tour guide, embodying confidence, adventure, and romance. Visualise the person you want to attract, not just in appearance but also their energy, like the bold and fearless spirit of someone who wrangles gators.
Ingredients used in my jar:
- Crocodile Jasper
- Rose Quartz
- Moss Agate
- raspberry leaf
- rose buds
- pond water
- A photograph
- Cajun Spice (optional)
When building a spell jar, include herbs and crystals that harbor the properties of the intentions you are trying to set, but feel free to also add your own flair in like adding a note or a photograph, or anything that resonates with yourself and the spell intention.
Step-by-Step: Building the Spell Jar
- Cleansing the Space: Start by cleansing your workspace. This can be done with smoke - perhaps a cigarette, if you're channelling Lana Del Rey's aesthetic -or with a bell, which works just as well to clear any stagnant energy.
- Starting with the Jar: Begin with your apothecary jar. The jar is a vessel for all the intentions you're about to place inside.
- Adding Crocodile Jasper: This stone isn't just about manifesting an alligator guide - it's about grounding and protection, aligning perfectly with the energy of someone who's not afraid to take on the swamp.
- Rose Quartz: Drop in a piece of Rose Quartz to attract love and ensure a romantic connection. Its gentle energy opens your heart to love in all its forms.
- Moss Agate: Known for its connection to nature, Moss Agate is ideal for manifesting someone who’s in touch with the wild and mysterious - like someone who knows the secrets of the swamp.
- Raspberry Leaf and Rose Buds: These herbs are powerful symbols in love spells. Raspberry leaf brings sensuality and fertility into the mix, while rose buds offer love and protection. Together, they create a magical blend of passion and safety.
- Personal Additions: Adding a personal touch, place a photo that represents the kind of relationship you’re manifesting or even a hand written note. Then, pour in some pond water - channelling the essence of the swamp and the natural world your guide comes from. I also added a pinch of Cajun spice, as said by most of the people on tiktok - the magick is in the accent.
- Crystal Frog: As a final touch, place the mini crystal frog carving in the jar. Frogs symbolise transformation and adaptability, perfect qualities for this magical guide.
Sealing Your Spell
To seal the spell, use a pink candle (representing love and passion). Drip the wax over the jar’s lid, sealing all your intentions inside. Once sealed, tie a bow around the jar, giving it a personal flair, much like wrapping up your own little piece of swamp magic.
When to Deactivate the Spell Jar
Deactivating a spell jar is just as important as activating it. You may want to deactivate the jar if you feel that your manifestation has come to fruition, or if the energy feels stagnant. To do this, open the jar and thank the universe for guiding your intention. You can then bury the materials or return them to nature (pond water is a great example) to ground the energy. The key is to approach deactivation with gratitude and respect for the process.
With this ritual, you can channel a bit of Lana Del Rey's ethereal energy and manifest your own alligator tour guide. Just remember: the power lies in your intentions and belief in the magic you’re creating. So light your candle, gather your stones, and embrace the magic of the swamp!
